If your a smoker, it doesn’t matter if you’re looking to quit, chances are by now that you’ve heard about the Electronic Cigarette. It has been the popular topic on major news stations such as CNN, CBS News, The Doctors, and many other local news stations and health related stations. With such high remarks and so much hope put on this miracle device, a North American study was conducted on 40 smokers form the age of 25 to 65 to find out a little bit more about the Electronic Cigarette and its aide in smoking cessation. All of the smokers had tried at least one smoking cessation product in the past, which did not work for them. Each of the participants was given an Electronic Cigarette, a 30 day guide to follow, and a “journal”to report their journey. They study researched and studied many of the claims, myths, and facts about the E-Cigarette. The 40 participants were given 20 16mg nicotine cartridges and 5 0mg, ( nicotine free cartridges ) with their Electronic Cigarette.

The Electronic Cigarette Study Summary
Week One
Study participants were told to utilize one E-Cigarette Cartridge ( 16mg ) per day, equivalent to approximately one and a half packs of traditional tobacco cigarette’s.
After week one of using the Electronic Cigarette there were already dramatic developing results. 87% of study participants said they had greatly increased energy levels, there was an overall feeling of wellness, and majority of users were not craving traditional tobacco cigarettes. The users also stated that they were very happy with the convenience of being able to “smoke” where they wanted. Since the E-Cigarette doesn’t actually produce any smoke ( what you see is actually a no smell vapor ) you can smoke it in places where smoking is not allowed.
82% said the thought the reason for the Electronic Cigarette working so well was its ability to replace the oral fixation you get with a traditional cigarette, which is lacking in so many smoking cessation products.

Week Two
72% of the study participants continued to use the 1 16mg cartridge per day, while 28% reported only using half the cartridge and reported strong signs of nicotine cravings tapering.
68% reported not having the desire for traditional cigarette all together.
Researchers discovered that the electronic cigarette started to significantly reduce the desire to smoke and placated typical withdrawal symptoms of nicotine.
Week Three
51% of the remaining study participants were using one 16mg Electronic Cigarette cartridge per day, while 31% reported only using half the nicotine cartridge and 18% reported they had already started using the nicotine free Electronic Cigarette cartridges and successfully showing signs of beating the nicotine addiction.
Nearly 95% of the study group said they had greatly increased energy levels and an enhanced feeling of well being. Also, 30% reported that they had started a healthier lifestyle regimen from exercise to dieting.
79% of the group reported that they had no desire or want for the traditional cigarette at all.
Week Four
Week four results were amazing! Only 12% were still utilizing 1 16mg E-Cigarette cartridge per day while nearly 40% was only using half of the same cartridge.
An amazing 51% of the study group said they had no need for the nicotine E-Cigarette cartridges and were only using the Nicotine Free E-Cigarette cartridges!
92% Of the study group reported to not have a desire for traditional tobacco cigarettes at all!
Conclusion
The study reports the effects of smoking an Electronic Cigarette both on the desire to smoke regular cigarettes and on nicotine withdrawal symptoms. A study group of 40 smokers used the E-Cigarette and their craving relief was then rated throughout the day as well as a series of subjective smoking related symptoms and overall experience.
The study shows that the 16mg Electronic Cigarette cartridge greatly reduces the need to smoke and overcomes the withdrawal symptoms as well as the routine and oral fixation associated with traditional cigarettes.
